That blue is wonderful! What happens when the copper starts to get a patina? Have you had issues with longevity, painting on metal?

Copper, if prepared properly, will last forever. There are wonderfully preserved pieces from particularly from northern Europe which are better preserved than their wood or canvas counterparts. The patina can be controlled by sealing but it can also have a wonderful added effect to certain paintings. I've been doing them for nearly 20 years and have had no issues yet.
